The South African Social Security Agency (SASSA) in Mpumalanga is currently checking out the Fernie two Group Hall in Mpuluzi to render services to the community.
SASSA will probably be rendering expert services which include new social grant applications, change of payment method, consumer treatment enquiries, as well as the Social Relief of Distress (SRD) COVID-19 grant enquiries.
In an announcement, the agency said it truly is alarmed regarding the high quantity of people counting on social grants for survival.
“The purpose from the Integrated Registration Outreach Programme [ICROP] is to reach-out to some higher range of clients/beneficiaries to access SASSA services.
“This is a result of the lack of infrastructure at Fernie and there's no fully functional office dedicated to service the area every day. The support level designed for intervention activities a large influx of prospective beneficiaries, which makes it complicated for that office to attend to all people who status sassa stop by a service point.
“In this reach-out programme, SASSA will mobilise additional assets to enable the servicing of all prospects and raise entry to Social Assistance services,” the agency said.
